(ZNE) is currently seeking a Drafter, Mechanical for a direct hire position located in Stonington, CT or Charlotte, NC engineering office.
Position No.
2020ZNE059ECTR or 2020ZNE059ENCR.
This is an in-office position in either our Stonington, CT or Charlotte, NC office.
This position is not remote.
Position Synopsis:
Individual will apply manual and computerized drafting methods with a working knowledge of the terms and procedures of the occupation to ?obtain the desired product?.
Assignments will be completed utilizing information provided by engineers or design staff under the direction of a supervisor?.
? Individual will be relied upon to apply a working knowledge of mechanical and/or civil/structural design to prepare mechanical isometrics?, ?plans?, ?elevations?, ?and sections, piping plans?, ?details?, ?and pipe hanger supports?, ?and details? ?utilizing engineer sketches and ?vendor information?.
Other responsibilities may include preparation of bills of material, resolution of client comments and as-built drawing preparation.
Education Required (minimum):
High School diploma with ?course work in drafting ?techniques and?/?or Drafting ?Certificate? is required.
Experience Required (minimum):
Education or experience in engineering drafting and familiarity with basic drafting techniques is required.
Able to accurately draw complex mechanical systems from sketches or ?specifications using appropriate terms?, ?procedures and drafting standards? is required.
? Able to demonstrate the ability to utilize various drafting and CADD techniques for project requirements is required.
Able to produce complex drawings in a ?2?-?D and ?3?-?D environment? is required.
Other Qualifications Required (minimum):
All applicants must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, Word, Excel and PowerPoint is required.
Effective time management skills are required as position may involve working on several projects concurrently.
Ability to pass security and drug screening and maintain unescorted nuclear plant access is required.
Successful candidate will be required to understand and comply with company policies, procedures and processes.
Overtime work will be required at times.
Travel to client sites with occasional periods of field/office work is required.
Ability to perform walk downs of equipment in an industrial plant environment, to include climbing ladders, working at heights, carrying equipment up to 50 pounds, accessing security controlled areas, and entering confined spaces and controlled hazardous (e.
g.
high temperatures, high radiation) areas is required.
Experience Preferred:
Knowledge of MicroStation and AutoCAD is preferred.
Experience with Laser Scanning tools, total stations, software, and registration is a plus.
